Raft Guide/ Activity Guide Fixed term

Wellington Rafting are looking for new members to join our team in the upcoming season.

We are looking for senior Grade 4/5, Senior grade 3 and grade 3 staff.

We raft grade 2 and 3 river sections in Wellington and the Wairarapa including helicopter access wilderness rafting.

Our rivers are flow dependant, there for we offer rafting when the river has some juice and inflatable kayaking/duckie tours when the river is at a lower flow.

In the near future we are looking to expand the company with a couple of new trips on offer.

Mid Waiohine grade 4/5 Multiday helicopter access wilderness rafting.

This is the reason why I am looking for a senior 4/5 guide as it can only be run commercially with 2 senior guides being a wilderness 4/5 trip.

This section of river is one of the best river sections I have rafted, it would be great to have some one keen to help get this up and running.

We are in the process of starting a commercial canyon tour in the Akatarawa valley, we have inhouse canyon assessors to train guides to qualify to run the canyon. This is an option we have when rivers are low as an alternative.

To help guarantee guides get enough work Wellington Rafting have teamed up with a company called Wildfinder who are a well-established company offering electric mountain biking tours over the Rimutaka incline and to Pencarrow light house, they also offer sea kayaking tours in Days Bay, Eastbourne.

When there are no river or canyon trips happening, you will have the option to work with Wildfinder to keep the hours up. There are also options within the company guides as a back up to do some labouring so there will be no shortage of work if you want it.

2021 busy season for us was great but we had the problem of not having enough guides to run the trips, this upcoming season I am hoping will be the same if not busier with boarders starting to reopen.

If you are positive, enthusiastic, professional and keen to be apart of Wellington Rafting crew 2022 please contact me via email or phone to discuss your position further.

We look forward to another awesome season on the awa with you.
