Dart River Adventures

We're on the hunt for Funyak Guide's - outdoor enthusiasts who love water and adventure. You will guide manuhiri (visitors) on Funyak's (inflatable canoes) along the Dart River, a treasured and unique environment. If you're a natural storyteller and entertainer, then this is the perfect role for you!
Our Funyak experience combines jet boating on the beautiful and iconic Dart River with a canoe journey in the heart of Mt Aspiring National Park. A wilderness picnic lunch and exploration of the stunning Rockburn Chasm are a highlight of the tour.

A little bit about what you'll bring to the role:

Has previous experience of guiding and hosting customers on activities in dynamic outdoor environments

Is able to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
A full, clean driver's licence with Class 2 and Passenger endorsement is preferable. As is having attended a River Rescue course in the last three years and possessing a current first aid certificate.
There's more to being a Funyak Guide than paddling the river, so we provide full training to ensure you can deliver safe and exciting experiences.

Serious Fun Riverboarding
Experienced and qualified Riverboarding Guides required.
Must hold Whitewater Boarding Grade 3 qualification. Based in Queenstown November to May.
Varied work pattern at least 30 hours per week.
Pay $900 to $1800 p/w

Southern White Water
Southern White Water is looking for grade 2 & 3 guides based in Christchurch.
Guides must have NZ certs and First aid etc.
Must be willing to work, guide, drive, communicate and be a part of the team.
We operate on the Hurunui, Waimakariri & Upper Grey rivers.
Good pay rates with room to earn more through KPI’s and systems knowledge.

Vector Wero
Vector Wero Whitewater Park have several positions available. These could be permanent, fixed term or casual positions depending on your situation. We offer competitive rates of pay, a minimum number of hours each fortnight, and a great environment to learn, play and develop your skills. We also have some free accommodation available on site! We require you to be a NZ qualified Grade 2 raft guide as a minimum. Candidates should have a current first aid certificate and river rescue currency. Rafting will be your main duty, but as we are an operation offering multiple activities, flexibility is a must. Kayak skills and or qualifications would be a bonus. Pay will depend on experience and skills, and a bonus will be payable on completion of any 12 months contracts.

Amuri Jet Adventures
Amuri Jet Adventures is a family owned and operated business offering adventure activities like Jetboating, Rafting, Quadbiking/Atv’s and Claybird shooting in the busy little picturesque tourist town of Hanmer Springs about 1 and a half hour drive from Christchurch.
We currently have a full time, fixed term (Oct-March/April) position available for the upcoming season for a Raft guide – Grade 2 or higher.
You will need to have the following:
- NZ Raft guide grade 2 or higher qualification
- Current River Rescue certification preferrable
- Current First Aid certificate
- Full, clean Driver’s license preferrable
Our raft trips involve rafting down the Waiau river (grade 2) with fantastic views, cliff jumping (river dependent) and a return Jetboat ride back up to base.
Safety and customer service is of utmost importance to us at Amuri Jet Adventures. You will need to be energetic, enthusiastic, friendly, great with customers and kids. You will be trained to guide/help with all other aspects of the business including maintenance and upkeep. Not a dull moment here!
Could suit a Polytech student with the required qualifications.
